I thought this post sheds alot of light on the situation and why we are in this mess and why Bush/Paulson were in such a panic. Make your own conclusions from it.

After reading the above post I now understand why Paulson threatened that he would have any line in the bill that limited buying assets from only those in the US.

Haven't Americans figured it out yet? We're Debtors! and guess who are our creditors? You didn't really think they'd let America continue to run amuck with THEIR money.

mmhmm Because you are the only one that pays taxes, right? If I'm against the bailout, I must be on welfare right? Bullsh*t.

I work bro. I pay plenty taxes. In fact I work in the financial sector . Actually though I'm getting out and going to the medical sector, You see I actually saw this coming and planned for it. Now to say this this bill will not cost us in taxes is just ludicrous. Why ludicrous? Come dude. You know better than that. We are not going to turn a profit on the crap that were going to buy. Plus on top of that. We do eventually need to pay for the money we borrowed for fund this misadventure.....with interest. Heck we are going to have to eventually pay down our nation debt. (BTW I do believe the nation's debt effects how well our economy does in the end.) Now........how are we going to do that? That right taxes. So get ready to get porked for the next couple of year.......or were it decades.

I feel pretty stupid selling SKF this morning at a 25% loss from my buying point, thinking a rally in banking stocks would crush this short ETF.

While I was not for the bailout ;the DOW being down today doesn't reflect anything on if it WILL work. If the credit market open up then it has done its purpose but at what price is my question. I personally hope it works, Only ther Domjsday whiners don't want it to work. As far as socailism there have been alot more socialist programs before this and always will be as lng as their are differences of opinion as to the budget.I will wait and give iot time as it took time to get thsifar down in the free market system. The confidence fact was in the market before the vote once they knew it was probasbly going to pass.
