Let's wait and see if anyone else actually watches the film. My guess is, NOT!

I watched it. So very deja vu of what is currently going on, especially the "rescue" attempts.
"The illusion of wealth" so aptly put.

I would compare the economist they mentioned in the film (Babson I think) who was predicting the crash to Roubini of today and the fortune teller to Suzie Orman or Cramer even.

Yes, it was eerie. The rescue attempts and then people would forget and the papers would proclaim everything was great, and so on.

I remember this video. Especially interesting were the cars going up and down on the roller coaster like road. This is exactly what the stock market has been doing. The difference now is that instead of private investors supporting the market this time it is government. Just like the depression it works for a while. Eventually the market takes control and the crash is unstoppable. This is what we are heading for, the first inflationary depression in US history. It will be far worse than the 30's.

Obama is responsible for that crash. Wait, the year was 1929. Sorry, don't know how but I was a no-information, brainless, gullible person for a moment there.

Good stuff! It's always a treat to hear about the legendary Jessie Livermore.

What's funny is that these are the people who supposedly "worked hard" for what they had. Yeah, if gambling can be considered work. Same as today.
