With the insolvency of the US economy becoming common knowledge, how much longer will it take for the rest of the world to finally dump dollars and get on with their lives? Each bailout loan just adds more debt to the future of the US and low interest rates make investment in T-bills less attractive than just buying and holding a commodity. When will the tipping point be reached where the straw breaks the camel's back, and the hyperinflationary cycle starts? We know it is coming, but why are dollars still being held by other countries instead of being converted to other currencies or gold...or are they already ?

The problem is, what currency do they run to? Right now we are in a deflationary period.

They run to the Yuan and the Euro. Both are controlled by governments with a long term perspective.
