I do not know, but I do personally know the deposed multi millionaire Nigerian King's wife's brother. We are in regular email contact and I am holding over 40 billion in bullion and monetary assests for them. At least, I will be as soon as my 100,000 transfer cost is taken from my bank.

har har.

Seriously though, I used to send stuff to my sister in benin and it was not too bad. The big slowup was when it got to the mail system of the coutry itself. Local delivery in benin was tough. But I do not remember it being more than a week or so and she was deep in poor country.

She was 3 years in the Peace Corp in the 90's. Lots of cool stories.

Check with the post office - probably around 10 business days.

So, what has mailing a letter got to do with the Business, Finance and Investing section?

Maybe they are sending a check to their bud in Kenya for that bazillion dollars waiting for them?

I didn't know where else to put it. CD doesn't have a USPS forum. I figured businesses sent things via mail outside the US. Thanks for the answer.

Depends what you are sending, and where in Kenya it is going.

~ 2 weeks for a letter; time varies for items requiring customs clearance. If you are sending to someone who is part of an NGO, then check with that agency, as they likely arrange periodic shipments for customs stuff, and it is more likely to actually arrive at destination.

BEFORE you ship something, notify your recipient and ASK what / how to send it, as many countries have customs fees and tariffs that exceed the value of the shipment.

I hope not. I already sent a check for all that money. My question is, how long will I have to wait for my money?
