The economy has been bad before; it will turn around eventually. I feel for recent college grads, though.

How is it not specific to Greenville? We have a Caterpillar plant here and the jobs cut by that company will affect workers here. Proof of that: http://www.greenvilleonline.com/arti...90126026/0/rss

Those jobs at Caterpillar weren't lost on Monday, so they aren't specifically related to this topic. The company has been announing plans to consolidate and lay off employees for more than a month.

Yeah, and they are adding in lower operating cost markets? The locals here think this is bragging rights -- but as near as I can see it is just more carnage in the making on the way to the end of the Age of Oil.

Some people were predicting half a million jobs lost per month until about May, which works out to an average of almost 17,000 per day.
