I wont eat it because I strictly buy American...with the exception of some special imports of high quality.

It is a shame because I grew up a half hour from Hershey.

They don't even make real chocolate. I feel bad for those who lost their jobs. If it weren't for that, I'd say good riddance!

I did some tax work for small confectioner in Denver in the early '90s. Their cost for sugar was higher than their labor cost. That is unheard of in a manufacturing business; normally labor costs are higher than raw materials. I would imagine Hershey has the same structure.

This whole sugar funny business is the reason why our soft drinks are made of HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP instead of real CANE SUGAR.

Actually the York Peppermint Patty is the least fattening of ALL candy bars, second is 3 Musketeers.
I have to watch my calories and exorcise alot but I also have a sweet tooth from time to time, if the apples and grapes don't cut it, the Patty will. Just for the record.

The world spot price for a pound of sugar is about 10-12 cents. The US government protected price of sugar is about 22-23 cents.

Hershey's not real chocolate; it has funny taste or even smells sometimes. We don't like it either and don't eat it from quite a while.. I am sorry for those loosing their jobs though...
