Smaller banks will eventually get sucked into the BIG 4 or five: Citibank, Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase and Wells Fargo.

Watch for it.

Those are very small local banks with assets less than $10bn. Majority, if not all, of the problems the banks are facing is due to their investments in the sub-prime mortgages. Considering the assets of those banks, I doubt they have much, if any, exposure to such.

Citi and BofA wont be sucking anyone else up, their trying to keep themselves aflot and Citi is even getting broken up....

PNC might do somemore aquiring down the line.
