Who the hell is he? I am smart enough to know that paying 25% interest for anything such as an appliance from Sears is plain nuts. Know thy finances and save your money!

He's one of those moronic talking heads on TV. He spouts out alot of horrible financial advice like telling people they should never have credit cards and other such dumb things.

Yeah, until you need to rent a car, hotel room or get a home/auto loan. Then you're **** up a creek.

You don't have to pay......in my case when my husband passaway, I actually had credit card comp. call and tell me I wasn't legally obligated to pay...and found out few yrs. later now they are charge-offs on my credit...messed me up, live and learn, credit cards will mess you up sooner or later...

Did you pursue that? That's a major FCRA violation if they stuck his charge offs on your credit report.

Actually in that instance you have to pay, spouses are not immune from the debt their SO's rack up unless you can really prove the fact of intent to deceive or they were separated. It's not impossible, but it's not easy. They should not have told you that you didn't have to pay it and put in on your CC report, you should go after them for that.

If it was a parent or a child you would not have to, it's illegal to convince you that you do.
