Chase might wind up regretting swallowing WaMu.

THAT would be pretty funny.

Death by Greed.

what is not so funny is that the WaMu executives still want their golden parachute and are in court fighting to get it!
Judge to consider WaMu exec's 'golden parachutes' | More Washington News | NWCN.com | Northwest News and Weather (http://www.nwcn.com/statenews/washington/stories/NW_080309WAB-wamu-golden-parachutes-SW.a3bdcbe8.html - broken link)

in part:
The bankers are taking to court the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, which still holds some of WaMu's assets.

If they can't get the money from that fund, Keller says they may seek damages directly from the taxpayer funded FDIC, since he says his clients are entitled to the money.

"How do you keep good employees? You do it by compensating them well," said Keller. (guffaw here)

If the case is certified as a class action, taxpayers could be on the hook for nearly $30 million.
