Do you know what kind of Spanish they are speaking? I suggest talking to the translator to see if he or she can tutor you or point you in the right direction for classes that don't just teach book Spanish. I have known too many people who have taken years of Spanish who can't actually speak to the people in their area. An additional advantage to learning from someone like the tutor is that you can learn more job-specific terms and the most necessary words first.

I like Rosetta Stone alot and it is offered free through my library--accessible from any computer as long as you have an active library account. Maybe that would be an option?

rosetta
I recently purchased rosetta stone for myself and my sons who I homeschool. It is really awesome and even is able to check your speaking through a microphone to see how close you are to the real deal. You can order a free trial to check it out or try it online as well. I live in a small town and so my library doesn't offer it...sounds like a nice deal though. Good luck!

get yourself the rossetta stone with the homeschool option
it will run you about 179 on the ebay and it comes with head phones. Good program and you get the workbooks too. Cheapest and best thing out there
