Here in north Alabama, most schools will begin the first full week of August.

By law, after Labor Day in MN, usually Tuesday after Labor Day. Since Labor Day is "late" these few years here, some schools have applied to start earlier, some did, some did not.

August 18. Of course, our ESY goes until August 11.

Which effectively gives us a week-long "summer break."

The summer gets shorter every year for my wife, especially when we had snow days. The schedule is for September 6th, to June 22nd.

August 24 for teachers, August 29th for students. One day (Labor Day) off until Thanksgiving vacation. The longest, toughest stretch of the school year.

Teachers on August 16, students on August 25....is is really almost over??

NC politicians just added 5 more days to the student calendar along with the massive budget cut.
There are now 185 student days. BY law school has to end before June 10.

By law, we start after Labor Day (VA). Teachers report Aug. 30, students start Sept. 6, and last day for staff is June 20.
