Ok i just want to ask everyones advice on this. I applied for a teaching postion last month. I was told that they were interviewing me and several other people(i like that they were honest) The principal told me that even if i wasnt hired that they would call me. Well i waited patiently and after a week, i called and found out i was not hired. Well, i was kinda bummed out but i accepted it. The next day, i got 6-7 phone calls from a certain number. I called it back and it was the principals secretary and she informed me that i was indeed hired.
I have not even received a call back since then. I was told to call on wednesday for when orientation would be. So I did and I was told to call back on Friday. I did and i was told to call back on Monday. Well i did that and i was told by the secretary that she called HR and they said that they would call each teacher individually. After we hung up, I tried to call the person at HR(i knew who it was) and they did not answer the phone. Well I finally got ahold of another person and they told me that they did not know i was hired since they handle elementary. They looked and found my recommendation. They also told me that sometimes principals lie and tell candidates that they are hired when they really are not. I thought that was kinda wierd and then I was told then to call texas teachers and find out when they would recommend me for a probationary cert.
So I did that and I found out that I now have to do 40 hours of online training which they swear that they told me and I told them that they did not. I am not a procastinator in any way and I do not care for people that are either. Well I tried to get them to let me start the training and still certify me for the probationary cert and they said they could not.
My question is, is it me or am I just getting the run around? I dont want to appear or seem negative but if I feel like a person just doesnt want me then Ill just go do something else. I also called the HR person today to let them know about the online thing and I even left a message and I never got a call back.
Can you make an appointment and go in to talk to the person who is in charge of Human Resources, or the Superintendent's secretary? It sounds as though the communication is fragmented, but you at least deserve a straight answer.
