There are indeed a lot of stupid people out there, what i have also noticed in schools, (whether they be private or public) is the silly amounts of socialization activities and charity work, when really they should be focussing more on what goes on at home regarding their kids education, it goes on and on and on.

And yes parents are indeed, a big part of the problem!.
They're either non active in their kids education or believe sports will cut it.
They dont discipline their kids enough, they would rather be their buddies than be a mentor.

Parents these days are absolutely clueless when dealing with such matters.

Hey, you can tell the truth and so can I. But if a politician speaks the truth......well, many times they get branded with some choice words......racists, uncaring, hateful.....blah, blah.

good post. we must define what is education.
for me there is no learning w/o discipline and consquences for wrongdoing.
that is our issue, we dont have any of either, discipline and punishment.
nicholi zarkozi said something great in his state of france speech last week.
he talked about the need to move education to trade schools instead of higher general ed schools.
a profound idea which he likened to the german system.
no need for france or us to produce 20 million new managers, we dont need them. we need skilled trade workers.
