How is it dishonest, intellectually or otherwise, to support something you agree with? Taxes are not theft. They are the bill we pay to be part of society. If you don't like the bill, you're free to leave. You don't have to take from the system. You don't have to be part of what you call theft. No one is stopping you from leaving. Vote with your feet.
The only one being dishonest here is you. You continue to enjoy the fruits of society while calling paying the bill theft.
You do realize that the internet was developed by the government so you'll have to log off now....or be party to the theft you're talking about.

Now you claimed that those were created for the common defense, so I'd like for you to prove your claim. Tell us, in front of god and man, just how you think that using both is for such a purpose? Your use of the Internet is a Straw man argument. Give it up already. The Internet was created by DARPA for original military use. The Federal Government is nearly useless, and needs to be dismantled.

Just like the other guy, you are using a Straw man argument. The Internet was developed by the part of the Federal government which actually has Constitutional authority.

And who do you think pays for the military????
You're the only one who is intellectually dishonest here. You continue to use, according to you, government ill gotten gains.... Those of us who support the system, OTOH, support the system and use what we PURCHASED. That someone might get more than me is inconsequential. There but for the grace of God go I. I could slip on the ice in the morning, bang my head, and need government assistance for the rest of my life. I don't begrudge anyone who needs more help than me.

The numbers don't lie. We're kicking out less than 70k in engineers every year. India is kickin out well into the 100k's, most of those from public unis. That says nothing about the numbers from China, or Eastern Europe, also from public unis. The point of why corps are going after lowering H1-B's and L visas requirements is in order to take advantage of the overseas money which has been used to train STEM folks and then bring them in at far lower rates. The point about Duke/MIT is that even the best uni graduates are finding that they won't go into their fields of study because of the politics of the globalization.
You teach at a public school, as I did. Public schools are being gutted, and the claim is that its because they can't do the job, so they should be defunded. But what isn't being talked about is the massive wave of people who are coming from foreign public schools/unis which are used to subsidize the corporations. The problem is getting so bad that some engineering schools are thinking of closing down, because they cannot sustain themselves against the onslaught of much cheaper, publicly subsidized engineers which can easily and cheaply replace Americans.

Give what up? That you haven't proved your point. It seems that you're the one that intellectually dishonest here bub. Where is it in the Constitution that says that a product created by the military, for military use, is to be privatized and then allowed to be used by the public, for private use? Just answer the question in order to show us how your mind works....

It is a Straw man argument because you posit one example as the rule for the whole. It is simple logic, but let me rephrase it for you:
Just because the military created a useful technology that serendipitously also had civilian use, it does not imply that the Federal Government itself is wholly useful.
In fact, it is quite the opposite. The Federal Government is almost completely useless, inefficient, corrupt, and wasteful. As a result, it needs to be dismantled.

That is a pointless question.
