Has anyone listened to the most recent episode "Three Miles" on the podcast, This American Life?
It is the story of two high schools in the Bronx that have an exchange day for students. One school is a very elite private school and the other is a very poor public school. The schools are only three miles apart...
They profile three students who took part in this exchange ten years ago and interview them about the experience and its impact on their lives.
I'm curious what you educators might have to say about this episode.
I'm not an educator but I was curious so I read the transcript of this podcast. I think this exchange has as much humanity as taking zoo lions out to the Serengeti, show them all the space free lions have to roam and then take them back to the zoo. Unless they have a plan to bridge the wealth gap, I really fail to see the point of this program.
