Hi,
I am a MS in chemical/material science engineering with experience in energy management and ERP (SAP) softwares. My MS project was in carbon nanotubes. i am working in ERP now, which i dont enjoy at all. getting in research in carbon naotube etc. requires PhD..another 4 years.
besides..
I feel i have more talent in business from the perspective of product conception and process innovations.
However i am unable to figure how to get in the field. I thought of MBA, but MBA is more about running day to day business with topics like
Logistics, operations, accounting, and i am not sure if it can lead me to my goals. The other thing i thought of was industrial design. i am not sure if that will help . Also, Research Assistantships are not available in MS (ind design)
direct job with companies like doblin/ideo looks impossible and looks like MBA and design degree are threshold barriers for this field of business consulting or innovation consulting.
My question is, are you guys aware of any such course in good colleges, which are oriented towards research in product conception and process improvements ( like alternate perspective in production and marketing) using design etc.
I hope my goals make sense
any leads will be helpful
thanks
Nitin
