Horrible. What is going on in the world that people think they should attack children.
Interestingly, it seems that in China, there are attacks in elementary schools, but not with guns. While this is horrendous, less of the people attacked die. There was one in China on Thursday.
China has been experiencing the school attacks in different places for some time. Dubbed as social revenge attacks by frustrated people marginalised by China's rapid development in recent years, the attackers mainly targeted school children to make maximum impact.
I am sickened. I am actually crying for those babies right now and wanting to go grab my own out of their school and hold on to them forever. I can't imagine what those parents are going through right now.
I don't understand what is happening in the world today that this has become the only option for some.
I have been thinking. With the current advances in internet content delivery. There is no reason not to demand that children *can* home school until driving age. I know there are many issues surrounding how we can make it work. But, I just don't think kids should be going to public schools any more until they are older and better able to protect themselves through good decision making. This would also help keep kids off drugs and alcohol.

Reason: Original post suggested I wanted to force certain actions, but was not my intent.
And where does it end? Stop them from going to the movies too? Any public places? Yeah, that sounds like a good life/childhood.
And then when they DO get out into the real world, they will be naive as a newborn (made that little simile up myself) or wild. Sheltering kids isn't going to be a good thing, but they do need to work more on prevention of things like drugs & alcohol, which has a lot to do with parenting, and to be taught to have more respect for powerful objects like guns.

Reason: removed inappropriate language
It's not about stopping them from doing things. It's about giving people who care about their children the ability to take care of them and provide a proper start. Kids will still be able to enjoy a life outside their home schooling but with *their* parents approval and involvement.
I don't think it would imply they would be naive. Kids can be taught drugs are not safe at home. They don't need to be taught about drugs by the kids who use them.
Again, it's not about sheltering. It's about *providing* a good start. One that doesn't involve decisions made by people who don't have kids best interests in mind.
I don't think it's so much about respect for powerful objects. It's about why someone would want to kill others.
Can you explain? Many people *want* to send their kids to private schools that use home schooling methods more than public schools and those kids tend to turn out much better. That's not to say the people in public schools are all bad. But, if people take an interest in their kids and that tends to make for better behaved children why not let them?
