Crack open those foreign language books! I really believe I did so well on the verbal portion of the test because I had 6 years of Spanish and 2 of French under my belt, so the root words came very naturally to me. Make sure to keep up your reading for fun. Those who read fiction tend to have larger vocabularies - plus it gives you an innate sense of style and rhythm to your writing.

Another tip is to make sure you take lots of practice tests. Figure out what you're weakest at. Need more help with algebra? Study that! Can bang out a 5 paragraph essay with ease? Maybe don't practice that as much as the other parts.

Don't cram, but rather make studying a part of your everyday life. Get on a few word-of-the-day emails and really LEARN that word, and then learn any word on that word's thesaurus article that you aren't intimately familiar with. You're not trying to cram too much at once, so you have time to really absorb the information.

Good luck!

Take practice tests, take practice tests, take practice tests. The trick to doing well on these is to know HOW to answer questions and, not necessarily what the answers are.
