Schools don't look to improve the quality of life of a child or get them to go to college. They only look to improve test scores. Even though I have been teaching in a public school for the past 5 years, I think I would homeschool when I have kids or look for a private school.

My point being that public schooling was never about realizing a child's potential, but stopping them when they reached their useful potential in the work place. The Rockefeller's and other industrialists wanted workers for the factories who wouldn't raise a fuss. The Peabody's wanted unthinking consumers. Other robber barons were using mass compulsory schooling to promote fabian socialism, while others favored it as a tool to create loyal soldiers for their wars.
Many of these dynasties promoting mass compulsory schooling (Rockefeller's with the NEA, CFR, and Council on State Governments) feel absolutely no concern whatsoever for human beings or the country they happen to be residing in at the moment. Their loyalty is only to themselves.
The Rockefeller Report - John Taylor Gatto
Please, keep these ideas in mind the next time you see our government schools at work. It starts to become obvious to you after a while that they definitely are not working toward the children's interests.
