Ah, yes comrades (tovarisch)! As ancestors were exposed - unfortunately - to soviet authoritarian control and methodology. We welcome you Pavlik Morozov!

Oh and its not just one political party they both are two halves of the same ass and would very much like to implement this behavior...

Isn't that from the movie Freedom Writers? I haven't seen the movie since it first came out eight or so years ago, but I think the teacher did it to promote camaraderie at a very troubled inner-city school...

(FWIW I live about an hour away from the school in question and it's not particularly troubled.)

I was never asked these kinds of questions when I was in middle school. Those answers are personal and shouldn't be disclosed. But the schools should address those topics.

I was expecting there to be a different take on the story when I read the link, but no, that's what happened! I really am shocked that teachers would be involved in something like this. I really think those questions are way to personal to be asking in a classroom setting. In a counseling session, perhaps. Teachers are teachers, not mental health counselors.

(Disclaimer, I did NOT watch the video.)

I'm not shocked. Teachers are people, and if they don't receive proper training in teachers' college then this is one of many possible outcomes.

None of your damn business you arrogant NEA educators!! Why don't you play the game amongst yourselves and let the rest of us watch.

Oh, totally inappropriate! Could you imagine the embarrassment of a child whose mother or father is in prison *Totally embarrassing* and that has nothing to do with the child at all, since you can't choose your parents!

Does anyone have to tell their co-worker if their parents are in prison? Same thing, respect people's privacy...only the school guidance counselor should know if a parent is in prison.
