What about affect (n), a feeling or emotion? Ex. his face should little affect after learning that he did not get the job.

Yes I know that's a word also, but where people screw it up the most is when they say "How will this effect me?" of "What are the affects of global warming?" (both wrongly used of course.)

novanative75, is there a word missing in your example?

It's (contraction) and its (possessive). Whenever I see that in a business' website or advertisement, I cringe and wonder why no one has bothered to tell them.

When I first scanned this I read "this is why it is important to be as careful as possible and try your darndest to speak/write poorly."

BTW, my little pop up dictionary says it's darnedest. Is that right?

OK, checked Google definitions and either is correct. Learned something new today!

I'll be darned!

Nicolepsy - it was just that I used then correctly in the sentence.
