Weird...I get finishing your credits early, but then you did like half-days for a semester?
I got to go away and take regular college courses after my sophomore and junior years in high school and then graduated early from high school so for that spring semester of my "senior" year of high school had another full load of 15 hours. By the time I would have been just starting my "freshman" year of college I already had 51 credits. Got my bachelor's degree a few days before I turned 19....but I digress.
The naughtiest thing I did in H.S. was one day in my junior year a bunch of us took water pistols to school. I happened to get caught with mine between classes and was given the choice of "a swat or a day". So I took the swat - and the principal did it right in the middle of the hallway. It was one of those paddles that looked like the stereotypical fraternity ones. I'm not even sure they told my parents but I don't remember getting any additional punishment from them, so maybe not.

i was a bully in grade school .. me and 2 other kids would pick on a lot of other people .. i guess it stems from my being the youngest of 13 kids .. believe me i got picked on a lot by family members ,, i see a lot of these same kids now 55 years later and i certainly remember how i treated them and i got to know they remember it too .. it makes me feel bad ..

I read/heard about a girl (a high-school junior in Alabama) who was expelled from school for carrying a water pistol (relative to the firearms policy). Apparently it was black and ‘looked real’, at least from a distance, to some of the kids who reported such.

Ah nooooo....back in the day water "pistols" were transparent plastic in neon colors - orange, green, pink, and such. This was before there were widespread school shootings.

Jr high school. Smokin’ in the boys room, because I thought I was a badass. Sucked and it and never could get the hang of it.

Right, it’s the reason I found your punishment to be a bit harsh when it happened to you (as I would think it would not have been that big of an issue ‘back in the day’ re: a neon water gun). However, I can see why it was for the other high-school junior at the time (a few years ago).

Funny how times change. When I was in school, there was a kid's smoking area. Kids over 13 and older could smoke on campus with a parent's permission.

Another difference. My school wouldn't care about the gun part. Heck during hunting season most of the pickups in the parking lot had rifles or shotguns in the window since the kids were going hunting either before or after school. But the teachers would care about the water part since it would disrupt class and make a mess. And yep, punishment for most infractions was either a day or a swat. Take the swat, no hard feelings, and go about your day.

This is an amazing change over the last 40 years. During high-school science class (mid 70s) I mentioned to the teacher I was going frog-gigging after school. And that I'd brought my rifle in the car too, in case I got frustrated and decided to just shoot the frogs instead. He responded by asking the class to decide whether I should shoot above or below the frog's image, to account for water refraction. A science lesson.
Imagine this today. A high-schooler with several spears (gigs) and a rifle in his car, announcing his intent to stab and/or shoot animals after school.
My guess would be: SWAT teams, arrests, suspension, lawsuits, news stories, massive social media response, condemnation, probably demonstrations from PETA/etc. outside the school and the kid's house. Parents and siblings harassed, mandatory psychiatric care, maybe even kids seized by CPS. My how things have improved [/sarcasm].
As to the OP's question: My mom taught at my school, and we drove separately. Campus was closed, but I could grab Mom's car out of the teacher's lot and go to lunch with friends. Only the student lot was watched for departures, so I got away with it for a long time -- they (and Mom) never noticed.
