Seems like much to do about a stupid sign.

One could question, what was written and given to the custodian?
I once accidentally put up a large poster with a misspelled work in my school hallway. The poster was created by my elementary age special education students and I never noticed the spelling error (they copied one of the words wrong) and neither did anyone else (parents, teachers or students) for the entire time that it was up. When I took it down a few weeks later I noticed the error and was pretty embarrassed, but those things do happen.

I bet that the HS principal was transferred for other reasons.

While certainly outrageous, I would only support this principal losing her job if its shown that the principal was aware of the misspelled words; if she is otherwise a good principal, this thing is being blown out of proportion. In my high school, for instance, the message board is in the front of the school, while many teachers and the principal enter through the back. Even if the principal/teachers entered through the front, however, most people aren't actively reading the message board and it becomes little more than a blur once you've been at the school for a while (and I'd imagine that the principal didn't put the sign up herself, but rather a member of the custodial staff did!).
