I live in a very rural area. Moving right now is NOT an option. We own our own business that does well here. I am not knocking our public school system at all. It's great. However my child is highly intelligent. 5th grade and wants to be a scientist. He excels in math and science. School is boring to him and they do not accelerate grade levels based on anything. They just wont do it, so advancing him a few grades is not an option. My child scores in the 99% in the US. In the 3rd grade he read at a sophomore level. So, my question is what would be a great online resource to challenge him? I have looked online but would really like to hear some personal experiences. I would not even mind doing online for him all the time and not sending him to public as long as he is getting a great education that feeds his desire to learn more. Again, he lives and breathes science.
Experiences appreciated. Thanks in advance.

See if you can get him enrolled in CTY.

I had thought about signing my son up for a course 2 years ago but I am lucky to live in a school district with a decent GAP program. Did feel the need to spend the extra money. It's not cheap.
