Written for the Exploratory Thinkers (all others welcome to read and comment as well)

American general public has to become smarter and more aware - it is very difficult to get American people to advance beyond the old ways of thinking. We have a system where the Boomer Generation still has far too much voice and controls, who long too much for yesterday, and not enough vision to look toward tomorrow. We've practically silenced the new generation via pay check to pay check chasing games just to make it from week to week. and direct their focus to nothing more than social media and expensive foreign made cell tech gadgetry.

The shallow thinking is a problem in the American system. We have people still riding degree's they earned in the 1960's and 1970's. Even among many who gained degrees in the 1980's were in part based a great deal of ideology of the early to mid 1970's, because they were taught by people from the 1950's, 1960's and some of the earlier 1970's,

We wonder why we lag. We fail to understand we went from a system that learned through dialog and interactions, we were once a generations who asked, "who", "what", "when", "where", "how" and "WHY".
We became lost when we got caught up in test scores, and measured ourselves against nations who do not have 'freedom of thinking", nor "freedom of speech", and relied on "Rote" process, from memory to testing designed to capitalize on "Rote Memorization's".

This stripped and ripped from our system and deprived our students populations of Inquiry, to ask "who", "what", "when", "where", "how" and "WHY". They suddenly became to be labeled as "disruption to the class", this is so unfortunate for the American Student, because the system got focused on "Lesson Plan for Test Taking", which is about "Rote Memorization's", rather than a Lesson Plan, designed to engage the students on subject material where the "who", "what", "when", "where", "how" and "WHY" was a integral part within the teaching and learning process.

To try and re-structure the system when it is ran by people who have been mis-groomed to adopt the "Rote Processing Theory", we have become an education failure, and improperly measured against a world system, that does not account for the fact of how the variations in societies function.

If American does not find its way back to the nature of educational inquiry within its teaching model, We will fall further behind.

Today, people don't engage in exploratory dialog, they are caught now in a system of 140 character utterance for the nature of 'drama effect", and "slap stick comedic response and assertion".
We've produced a mass of people caught up in the closed circle of "short attention span", "the hubris of seeking to be a social media popularity figure, and unaware of the depth of subject matter and the elements of inquiry, to grasp the need to embrace the "who", "what", "when", "where", "how" and "WHY, for intellectual expansion and referential clarity of facts, function, process and advancements in learning methodology.

University Models, outside of Science, Technology and Medicine, are caught and taught 'greed modeling" which has negated the humanity factor, and ignored the sociological impact of their decision making methodology.
We've been misled to base much of Ivy League modeling, which by act and fact is structured to teach the wealthy how to keep the wealth in the hands of the wealthy as a base premise beneath their models designs.
Ethic's is ignored and twisted by any means and manner of both Greed and Avarice designed ideological jargon and contortions of legal language usages, to seek to give it credibility.

We know no better, because we are bombarded with incessant speak of "Degree's as a human measure, with a ongoing denigration of anyone and all who are and become part of the labor forces that are non dependent on degree labels. The workers have become the most disrespected group in our economic system, and they are disregarded in our social model, and categorical standing of social groups. Therefor, it is no surprise we have a diminished segment of middle class citizenry.

We have Degree riders, who play to other segments of the degree labeled society, which functions in a closed loop, of Over-leverage, Sell_out", Buy_out", Over inflate valuations, over expand to create the illusion of performance, and result to be over stocked, with no customer base to move nor sell the products that are based on "import volumes", as we have ceased to be and become a Production Nation. We became one led and misled by Stock Trading Fiction, of companies valued at 300 -3000% above any reasonable ability to perform, saddled with a debt ratio that is beyond function, and scaled to set up another sell off, a buy out, that leads to the eventual collapse of the industry business. The grandest Pyramid Scheme every created in the human span of social society. Not unlike what took down, Rome, Egypt, Greece and all the other once great nations.

We SILENTLY watched as the nations transitioned from respect for the workers, and decided to claim the only important elements of business and industry was the degree riding executives. This drove the process of Union Busting to become a focused theme, to ensure the workers have no voice, and the union as a collective median, would not and could not be strong enough to curb or prevent the outsourcing madness.
The LIE, because that Union workers wanted too much pay, this was the public hoodwinking drama push, all the while "degree riding executive compensation went off the charts, to the tune of people in the Executive ranks being paid 300+ times the average wage of the lowly paid employees. Then they are given stock options which transfer ownership to the same executive ranks, who cash out, whether they crash and burn the company or simply run it into the ground of being sold out, bought out, and dismantled.

We see people in masses laid off, companies sold off, division closed, and buying up other companies only to result to destroy two companies. The winners, is the bankers, the traders, the attorneys, and the Executives, and the greed of hedge fund managers who play both sides against the middle, while they loot each side with the financial tools designed to rip and strip a profit from a fictional built system upon and against the variations of model, they utilize as tools to deplete and deflate, until it is driven to the inability to perform to meet with debt overload.

Many writers present this information in fragments, covertly expressed by politically correct jargon, which does not actually say anything, beyond twisting words to create pretentions.

As a nation who once led, we now can only prop ourselves by the assumption of debt. While the wealth transfer of the nations has been moved to the hands of 1% of the population, with 60% of that 1% controlling the bulk of wealth holdings.

Yet, we remain blinded by a nations which has Advertising Revenue driving more than 65% of GDP. still we don't grasp the impact of being driven to distractions in the process of selling us, Imported Goods via drama sequences in advertising modeling.

This is what results when financial literacy was a purposefully omitted part of the basic educational model.

Ethic's was destroyed by the pegging of ideologies one against another by partisan games. We can't omit the ethnicity conflicts that raged in the streets while the system proceeded to disenfranchise the members of society who make up what is called "The Poor", which is comprised of all races low income earning masses.

We as a society have an options, and that options is to invest heavily in vocational and technical skilled training programming. We must remove the cloud cast over this, by the greed cycles of University Business Modeling. This by no means discounts the value of University Programs, but it does aim to put perspective to it and not one as being the dominant divider of people in a socioeconomic system.

Let's Think in a Broader Context - We "MUST" advance the importance of vocational and tech skill development programming, as the dominant programming which encompasses the masses.
Debt alone for University has made it a select organization available unto those who can afford to assume such debt, but such one in high volume result to become indentured to the banking systems who control that debt making process. Only to face a system which has not enough industry to consume the mass volume of degree holders, No business needs more executives than labor employees and skilled crafts people and vocational trained workforce employees.

The grammar in general, especially poor syntax, punctuation errors, and the overuse of quotation marks all distract the reader from the message.

Ok, i read the whole thing.

I'll just pick one point to begin. It seems like it's either been a while or you've never actually seen one of the standardized tests you keep referring to. While I certainly don't favor an emphasis on testing, you don't prepare for them with rote memorization.

You've got about 8 threads worth of topics in this post.

Unfortunately, the premise is wrong. America does not need a smarter public--though I wish we did.

Ask yourself: if the masses in the US gets dumber and dumber, what would happen?

1) The powers at be would ply them with plenty of drink, cheap food and entertainment.

2) Their entertainment would be increasingly pornographic, crude, fantasy-based and violent, so that the masses can live life vicariously through their entertainment.

3) Their politicians would replace intelligent political discourse with sound bytes, staging and looks.

4) They would import skilled labor to enable the economy to run; employ the masses in low end jobs; house the masses in cheap housing with the appearance of quality and value; offer them cheap finance to buy stuff; and outsource the stuff that labor and environmental laws do not permit.

5) They would cajole the public into celebrity worship and replace thinking with pundrity worship.

And schools would reflect this great imbalance.

...which is of course what we see today.

You make a great case as to why we need a smarter and more intelligent society of people.

I can agree to that, because these things are not separate, we simply have to look to see the interlinks within the overall of so many variables, together it is bringing us down faster than a snowball rolled down a hill until it triggers an avalanche.
