Every high school student in the United States should watch this video and, perhaps more importantly, the parents of every school age child should watch it.
We've become so obsessed with higher education for the sake of higher education that we've lost sight of the fact that a degree that doesn't prepare you for a career is a luxury. Planning for a career that will allow you to live the lifestyle you want, whether or not that career requires a college education, is far more important than the acquisition of a piece of paper saying you spent 4 years learning nothing of value (in terms of a career). Luxury purchases (vacations, expensive cars, big houses, degrees with little or no career potential, etc., should come only after your career is on track.
