I have an interesting observation. Team USA has 3 Chinese Americans, 2 of them have perfect score. Team China has only 1 perfect scorer. Did our Chinese beat their Chinese in 2016 math contest? Lol.

Yes. It's the immigrant effect and our greater educational opportunities at specialty high schools like most of the US team members attend.
At least two of these kids attend regular public schools
Michael Kural Greenwich High School, Riverside, Connecticut (#468 in the national rankings by US News and World)
Allen Liu Penfield Senior High School, Penfield, New York (#743 in the national rankings by US News and World) and it is not a specialized STEM school.
One goes to a private catholic school
Ashwin Sah Jesuit High School, Portland, Oregon
One goes to an IB high school which is a public high school of choice where you have to test in
Ankan Bhattacharya International Academy East, Troy, Michigan
Two attend elite private schools
Junyao Peng Princeton International School of Mathematics and Science, Princeton, New Jersey
Yuan Yao Phillips Exeter Academy, Exeter, New Hampshire
Apparently we win only because of a strong Asian presence on our team, eh?
You are absolutely right. That is the not so secret weapon to win the competition. UK are doing the same way. Look at Canada, all 6 teammates are Chinese. The best non-Asian team is Russia at #7. But the Russians are behide the Koreans, both north and south.
