I'd have worked more at going out of my way to be nice to some of the kids struggling with stuff and been less focused on me.
I was nice to people, but I think I would have reached out to people who needed more friends. I was happy with my high school experience. I might have quit band earlier and did the training thing thing where you learn skills like drafting, etc.
I would hope I'd never go through that hell again.
But if I had to, I'd insist we act upon those tests that said I'd do great working outdoors with my hands. Like a park ranger or something. Problem is, at that time it wasn't an acceptable thing for girls to do in my area (apparently by the age of some female park rangers I've read about recently, it was acceptable in some places!)
Oh where my life would be now if I wasn't forced into "business" studies. I may actually have fulfilled my dreams, instead of wondering at 50+ if I still have time to.
Spent more time in my books, rather than daydreaming about celebrities and reading fashion/teen magazines. Becoming more involved in extracurricular activities. And applying to more than one college in senior year, deciding to do those college essays, instead of backing out!
Times have changed and I wouldn't want to go through it again. But if I knew then what I know now, I wouldn't worry about much, because ultimately, those years have no bearing on my life now. It was unnecessary drama, nobody has been interested in my transcripts, life goes on.

That's a very good point. For most people, other than at the time, life in high school does not portend adult life.
