I was horrified to learn that a teacher in my child's school had her license suspended by the state and was then PROMOTED to an administrative role in the same school. All I did was Google her name and saw the suspension posted on the State Board of Ed. website. The law clearly states that this person cannot be employed at the school. We will be switching schools at the end of this year.

As a Kansas resident and former educator (not in KS), it's more likely a sign that says, "Given educators leaving the state in droves, we're not too picky," as the article I posted also suggests.

Yah, I get your point. I also note that you have a passive construction & - I think - a fairly obscure cattlemen's (herder's?) reference (which originally applied to the animals so driven - nice touch). I prefer my formulation, but yours is the superior construction, I'll grant, in terms of literary panache. But of course, we're not talking about Stratford-on-Avon here, & that's entirely the problem, in a nutshell, as it were.

Why was it suspended? Mine was when I retired, a deal my former system has with the State to keep people from leaving to work for another system.

The website lists "testing violations."

If you want Stratford-on-Avon, even in cowtowns, you have to be willing and able to pay for it.

The Kansas legislature, in its repeated pillaging of education funds, has continually proven that, as a state, it isn't.

Not a huge surprise that its districts attract minimally qualified and/or unqualified folks with sketchy resumes.
