My kids are in private school, so I'm guessing their special programs are of less interest to your inquiry (considering they cost a pretty penny!) However, one of my nieces is in a public high school that has a culinary arts program, including a student run restaurant open to the public. The kids operate all aspects of the restaurant (front of the house, back of the house, menu planning, etc.) and the food is actually pretty impressive coming from a bunch of teenagers!
In a day and age where public school funding is constantly being slashed, I think it's a really unique program that actually provides teens with real world experience.
