Default College-Level/Adult Chinese Classes in New York City

Hi, I'm moving to New York and I was hoping to pick up a night or weekend class for Chinese. I've grown up speaking Mandarin at home and I used to attend Saturday classes, but I've forgotten most of my reading and writing skills. I was hoping to relearn those skills and to pick up some useful vocabulary that can used in modern day life such as a few business terms. Basically, I want to get to a level where I can read the newspaper in Chinese. Can anyone suggest a college or institute with classes appropriate for my level? I've checked out Columbia's School of Continuing Education, but it is sooooo expensive and I do not care about receiving credit.

At Hunter they have Mandarin courses

Chinese - Courses

The rate per credit/hour is far cheaper and more affordable than Columbia. Make sure that you consult with the schedule first. Speaking as an Alum of Hunter I can say that the language instruction at the school is very good. They even have a language lab that you can access when movies and use computer programs that will assist you in the language that your taking. Good Luck!
