Crossroads of my life. Should I go back to school?! (college, tuition)

I'm a 32 year cable tech for a major telecommunications company. Over the past 3 years I have become completely unhappy with my job and so called "career" path. I have an assoiciates degree in computer networking and I am thinking about going back to school to pursue a bachelors in Computer Engineering. However I am interested in real estate and someday owning my own business which has my thinking about a Finance degree. I feel I can succeed in both areas. I'm praying that I have enough credits to get my bachelors within 2 years. Can I get some good advice from you guys. Help please!!!

It does sound like you need a change. Achieving more education can be your key to unlock those once closed doors and find happiness. I worked for the govt. for many years and I hold a dual masters degree in business and psychology. I also have a few months left for a PhD. If a person didn't have a degree or two where I worked the person would have a small chance to get a higher position.

It will be great for your esteem if you achieve a college degree. The IT fields are not easy and you can discover that advanced schooling will be an excellent choice. A college degree to obtain more information in the field you are already knowledgeable is outstanding and good luck..

Also the field of Real Estate is very good too. My brother is a real estate Broker in DC and I went to school for Appraising Residential properties. At the preesnt time I achieved the schooling but did not appraise a property. My brother's business is almost nill at this time and last year he employed 12 people as he was making over 1/4 Mill $.

What about asking your work to pay for your schooling? You never kinow if your work will pay for your schooling until you try. Good luck once again.

Synergy1 thanks for the advice. I am sure my job offers some type of tuition reimbursement. What you mentioned about your brother also sounds very good, I never thought about appraising property. I will definantly look into that idea. I just feel so stagnant right now.
