Two solutions for the bullying epedemic

But those aren't the kids who are bullied. Bullies stay away from most kids for a reason; they know they can't get away with bullying them since most kids DON'T put up with it. We're talking about the others.

There will ALWAYS be bullies in life and everyone needs to learn how to deal with them. Not run away from them.

By stating that "there will always be bullies in life," I hope you mean only on the playground, because I don't agree that they're present throughout life. A true adult "bully" is usually out on his/her rear.

The first solution is for parents to be parents first and a friend second to their children. Children must learn, beginning at home, that there are consequences for their choices. As long as parents continue to bail their children out of situations they will believe that their actions have no reprecussions.

Parents also need to realize that their children are not perfect and if you ground them or take something away from them they will still love you down the road.
