Default Moving to El Paso Recommendations on phone/internet providers

Hi,
Finally we are moving to El Paso in March and I wanted to get some feedback RE: phone/internet providers. Currently we have verizon for our land line and dsl for internet. Searching online I found ATT has a bundle for dsl and land line but was wondering if people could give some sugestions.

Basically we are looking for long distance/local land line use and dsl for internet. I probably won't be bundling our mobile phone or tv service.

Open to suggestions this way I can start checking out prices. I don't know how it works there some places you need to go through a carrier like verizon for the basic line then you can pick other providers.

Thanks in advance for your help I just want to say I have posted for a few months now prior to the move and have found everyone very helpful.

Just a few more weeks and we will be there in your lovely city of El
Paso.

Mimi

While there are some options, it boils down to AT&T vs TWC. There is stuff like vonage and that miracle jack device.

Thanks yeah that is why I stuck with verizon here in MD because to use vonage you still need that internet connection. Hopefully it doesn't take long to hook up new service.

I have RoadRunner Business Class (TWC) at work and it is bundled with 2 phone lines and basic cable. I have ATT DSL at home running wireless to all computers laptop and BluRay players. My ATT seems to be faster even though I am hard-wired at work.

I would suggest you find out where you are going to be moving and then figure out what is available in that area. I know some places do not get ATT U-Verse while some don't get TWC. Good luck and hope I helped some!

Default U-Verse!

We have ATT DSL and DirectTV (which are both decent) but some of our family members have U-verse and it is GREAT . If it is in your area, I would definitely look into it...

I have tried ATT and Time Warner for internet in El Paso and they provide the kind of service and reliability that I would expect in Zimbabwe. In other words, don't use these services if you need reliable internet service. I used to have Comcast before moving to El Paso, and that was fine, but isn't available in El Paso. I will post again to this thread if I find something that works.
