aTatrabilious. NO really meant 79902 - I likethe old homes in Sunset and the El Paso High area. I like the mix of people and the location -close to downtown. Many of the houses are bargains as well.

"Many of the houses are bargains as well."

As well as hard to heat and cool, not energy efficient, and in desperate need of plumbing, roofing, and electrical upgrades.

I looked at the houses in the Central area, particularly the area around Manhattan Heights, which has many lovely homes and is slowly being yuppified. If I were handy, or had a ton of money to do remodeling, they'd be great. We certainly need these homes to be upgraded, and everyone talks about being close in, but the practicalities are daunting if you are looking to buy in those areas. I wish there were somebody in town that specializes in the home remodeling purchase loans (FHA 203k) and would make a push for them, but they're very tricky.

probably not responsive to the OP's topic, sorry.

If we didn't live on post, that's where we were looking. Either that or the Charles MS or Nixon MS areas in the NE.

Proximity to Bliss was a priority to us.
