This is when a 'picture paints a thousand words'...

State Rep. Naomi Gonzalez arrested on suspicion of DWI in Austin (updated with statement) - El Paso Times

But she can't be bothered with it now, she has to continue to do the work of the Legislature... 'ain't nobody got time for that'!

Man, hasn't she ever heard of a cab, or the E-bus?

She blew twice the legal limit and I'm sure she wasn't drinking alone in dive bar. Which fine upstanding politicos was she boozing with and who didn't question her ability to drive? She'll finish out her term then have the chutzpah to run again.

She claims she had ONE beer and ONE mixed drink over a 2 hour period. Who does she think she's fooling?

She only remembers ONE beer and ONE mixed drink, after that it's all a blur.

Most people busted say something to that effect and I never understand why. I've seen enough COPS episodes to know that you should always keep your mouth shut if you are arrested. I'm guessing people who say that do so as not to offend the officer because it is obvious they are drunk, but trying to shift blame to something else. The next typical excuse I hear is 'it must be a reaction to medication'. At least it seems to work for famous people.

Sentenced to 15 days in jail. According to this article she showed little contrition the night of the accident despite the big speech later.

"In an affidavit, the officer who interviewed her at the hospital said Gonzalez never asked about the others who were injured, but she "cried about how she had worked so hard to get where she was."

I guess the big question is what would have happened is she had killed someone?

Gag. If I was in her district, I'd vote for somebody else or not vote at all.
