Are there really that many soldiers moving to Ft Bliss? I knew that the Army re-located some units there, but I didn't realize that it was that many.

I don't have to go out and make it look bad.. And some find Graffiti an art form. I like how you go out of your way to paint a bad light on everything I have to say.

But to be fair to Muhnay -- the graffitti in some areas really is pretty bad. The taggers are what really is making El Paso look bad -- pretty unsightly to those who are coming here for the first time and aren't from places where graffitti is common.

Between the graffittis and the iron bars on so many windows and doors -- El Paso has a certain "look" that isn't very flattering.

So all the things that will make El Paso better in the future have to deal with taking advantage of soldier?
Why cant this little dusty town build itself up? The military doesnt run the city. The same people have been running this city for some long time, and have done NOTHING with it. Just depend on the military and all the Feds here for the border.

True....El Paso needs to diversify its economy and not be so dependant on the government. However communities all around the U.S. will fight you tooth and nails before giving up their bases. I was stationed at Norfolk Virginia and Jacksonville Florida in the Navy and those communities loved those large Navy bases. Alamogordo NM would be devastated if Holloman AFB shut down or Cannon AFB in Clovis NM closed down.

So yeah diversify but nothing wrong having a military base in El Paso. I'm sure there are cities in America that will gladly take FT. Bliss from El Paso. I see Lawton OK (FT.Sill) is stoked to be getting the troops from Bliss that are relocating there from the BRAC.

Amen to that one, Harry. I love the military presence here in Alamogordo, and I'd like it in EP. too.

Thank God for the U.S. Army and other military units. These people are sacrificing much for this country.
