do you think people in el paso are rascist?
I personally have never been discriminated against here in el paso, then again i am hispanic.I went to san antonio a few years back and along the way i stopped in a small town to get a blizzard at a Dairy Queen, it was unbelievable, i must have stood in line 15 min, before the cashier decided to take my order.I just laughed it off, even when a tall husky caucasian male, which they knew my first name, rudely just cut me off in line.

There is racism everywhere including El Paso, but there is mosre racism directed against El Paso as I have read on other forums from people in other places of the country, it's all self explanatory.

Ive noticed alot of "sneak" racism, since i started reading the posts directed towards el paso, i think i would respect individuals more if they came out & just said i dont like mexicans, instead of pussyfooting around the subject.

I agree high & lonesome, take it for what it is, el paso is progressing, theirs construction all over town, the new courthouse is going to be beautiful, its being designed by a world renowned architect.Hands dowm, its going to be one of the most beautiful, visually aesthetic buildings not just in the southwest, but in the entire u.s.El Pasos new slogan should be "Love it or leave it alone", if you dont like it, get out, sayonara buddy!

It's not high and lonesome, it's HIGH!Lonesome, I saw that once in a magazine about the Franklin Mountains, the title read, High!Lonesome, I think it was Texas Monthly not sure but it was a nice story about El Paso for a change, then again that was around 1987.
I do and so be it, UM!!! yeah that new courthouse really impresses me, pretty tall for an eight story building, it has really high floors as compare to your average buildings in the vicinity, and yeah the world reknown architect Antone Pedrock or something like that from Albuquerque designed the building, what I like about it is that it has height to it, nothing of any notable design or height has been built in downtown since the eleven story county courthouse back in 1991, the Plaza renovations comes close to anything new and notable till now.
hasta la vista!!!

Well, I will say from personal experience that being white in El Paso is similar to your experience at that Dairy Queen except of course in reverse. People always want to say white people are the big bad racists, but that is just not true. I've been treated by Hispanics just as badly as you were treated by that white waitress.
