Sure you can stroll South side El Paso, if your wearing a white wife-beater Tee, with a plaid shirt with only the top button done, Khakis and sunglasses at night... and your last name is of the Hispanic orientation, packing a piece and are not of a rival gang.

There are 7 Denny's in El Paso, according to the Denny's web page.

4690 TRANS MOUNTAIN RD
EL PASO, TX 79924 US

9567 DYER ST.
EL PASO, TX 79924 US

6650 MONTANA ST.
EL PASO, TX 79925 US

6144 GATEWAY BLVD. E.
EL PASO, TX 79905 US

11315 MONTWOOD
EL PASO, TX 79936 US

11045 GATEWAY BLVD. W.
EL PASO, TX 79935 US

510 ZARAGOZA RD
EL PASO, TX 79907 US

The one is Red is the one I think the poster ( OBSERVE ) was referring too near Downtown.

If your really gonna sit there at your computer Desk and say that places here don't hire Spanish speaking only people.. then I am going to call you a liar. The Wal*Mart on Trans Mt Road, has many of them. I have asked workers there many times for assistance and they don't speak English.. same with the McDonald's on Trans Mt. So don't go saying this guy is full of it, because I have seen it first hand here.

LOL.. The Devils Triangle is but a small part of the North East. the South Side is the South Side... Known for its gang violence, high crime, and shady dealings.

Chuco, that could be the only one East of Downtown on the freeway. So it has to be the one he is speaking of. But I could be wrong.. wish he would come here and clear that up some. Either way, the fact that business do in fact hire people that speak only Spanish is quite true.. even Denny's.

check out the stats, compare the whole southside to the devils triangle, nevermind, check the crime stats of northeast vs the southside in the last 3 yrs, lets see which neighborhood you would be scared through walk to.

I know businesses hire Spanish speaking people only, we do live in a border town where 75-80% of the people are Hispanic located next to Meixco, so it is bound to happen.

I usually doubt what Observe types on here most of the time on this board anyway.. so sorry bud, I don't believe what he is saying.. he usually just comes here for whatever reason to talk trash about El Paso. If someone else had said it, I would of given them the benefit of the doubt, but since Observe posted the message, then I don't believe it. When he said that it was on the South side, passing downtown.. then I believed him even less.

how is this pertinant to the discussion? Personally, I wouldn't walk in either. and the war zone is an isolated part of Albuquerque, compared to a whole region of El Paso. I am completely missing your point here. Yes the war zone is bad, but what does that have to do with Denny's? I understand Observe may come to your forums alot and bash on El Paso, but El Borracho I have seen you guilty of the same things in the Albuquerque forums.

In all seriousness now, I think the Cheesecake factory would be a great addition to El Paso. Albuquerque can't have one because of a local restaurant Dee's Cheesecake Factory--which is atrocious by the way--so all of the Cheesecake factory's products I would have to get at Sam's Club. So it would be really cool for El Paso if they got one of those! I would make the drive down a little more often!

I would love too.. Please post a few links so I can. I can tell you I am not scared to walk in the North East at all. I grew up here, this is my stomping grounds.. I guess thats why I don't see it as that bad.. yes I agree the Devils triangle has a real bad rep.. but it by far the North East alone.. as the guy from ABQ. was saying the WarZone is but a part.. not the whole. Make sure to look at violent crime versus petty crime.. I bet you'll find more violent crime south side than N.E..

As I grew in N.E., you grew South.. so we have rose colored glasses to our sides of town. We don't agree.. and I am sure people looking to relocate here.. love these sorta conversations.. gives them a real since of what El Paso is all about. Instead of the constant lies of how safe the city is.. about time people started owing up to our sins, and stop trying to hide them under the desert dirt and cacti.

Chuco.. I see your point.. but as I said before the Denny's off the Freeway is East of downtown.. so I have to think thats what he was talking about.. I was not confirming the waitress there only speaks Spanish.. just trying to narrow down the location. I also agree on your point that in El Paso, there are gonna be business that hire Spanish only speakers.. I am not faulting that.. just confirming that it does happen here.. just like most of the business here require some sort of Spanish to get hired. I'm not attacking it, just stating a fact. So with that said.. his story has some merit based on those facts.. thats all I am trying to say.
