Though I agree that El Paso needs some nicer larger buildings, I don't think you guys give your downtown enough credit. What needs to happen first is for the area to be finished being cleaned up, and possibly start buy putting some sort of Attraction in this area. Maybe minor league baseball???? Just gain the respect of the citizens again, and believe me, buildings will follow.
Now a comment was made that Albuquerque has a new downtown??? What area are you referring too? Journal Center? Mesa Del Sol? I am not contradicting, I am just wondering?
I think El Paso, and Albuquerque, alike has had the wrong mentality for years. They have stunted growth purposely, and now I think these cities are reaping the consequences. It really is sad, but finally some new leadership will bring these cities into the 21st century.

The Picture for the Fort Worth Skyline is actually Dallas' skyline... and yeah i figured you would figure out Amarillo skyline couldn't be that good.
I travel all over Texas, I have family in El Paso. I know The Fort Worth, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and El Paso skyline when I see them.
EP does need better buildings, Its a really nice place. A little dry, but thats cause I'm from Dallas. Too bad you guys have mountains, then you couldn't use the excuse for a Observation Tower, which really add to some skylines such as Dallas' (the big Glowing Ball)
El Paso could use some work, its a charming skyline, If you look at it from the right point. It reminds me of the Fort Worth Skyline, which is significantly shorter then that of Dallas' but I find it very attractive.
That is Fort Worth's skyline
and yes... the buildings are lit, it looks really cool.
This is Dallas:

Houston:

Austin:

San Antonio:

and last BUT NOT LEAST: El Paso :

Best of Luck Fellow Texans.

I wonder if Muhnay meant ''Uptown'' as there are tall buildings there by Coconado mall....

Getting back to our topic, I wonder if anyone out there might be able to offer us a simulation picture? In other words, a picture of what Downtown El Paso could look like with proposed (or not) buildings. What could El Paso look like?

this is a good pic of the el paso skyline, through & through i have confidence in el paso that we will rise up to pur former glory, & we got a good leader at the helm!!
"el paso what does it mean to me as i contemplate, a small town, breakin out of its shell & a big city taking shape" [thats my attempt of being a poet [lol]
