for reading purposes!
I dont have a specific haunted place to direct anyone to, but these are just some things me or my family members have experienced:
My aunt was home alone with her son one night about 5years ago (putting him at 3yrs old at the time). She was downstairs making dinner, and he was upstairs playing by himself. Or so she assumed. She heard him talking, so she went upstairs to investigate because it wasn't your normal three yr old talking to himself, making stuff up, etc...He seemed to be carrying on a conversation with someone. She walked in on him and asked who he was talking to. He replied, "My grandpa." But here is the kicker: His grandpa had died a few yeard BEFORE he was born!!! This FREAKED my aunt out, she grabbed her son and took him downstairs with her. She was so terrified she called her husband out of work that night to come home and be with her. Well, several years passed without any further incident. Until last summer! She was babysitting her nephew (who also happened to be 3yrs old at the time). She was outside in her backyard playing with him on her son's swing set. She was pushing him on a swing, and he was just gazing all around him, he seemed to just be watching everything around him. Out of nowhere, he asked my aunt, "Who is that?" and pointed to the side of the house. She turned her head, saw NO ONE and asked him, "Who is who?" He demanded, "That! Who is that standing right there?" Well needless to say, she grabbed him as well and booked it into her house. Since then, nothing creepy has been reported.
One summer about 7years ago, I kept hearing footsteps, and they always seemed to follow me wherever I went. Then one day they just stopped as quickly as they began.
I've seen shadows out of the corner of my eye in our house when its late.
My mom has heard me or my sisters call out "Mom" when no one is home.
My grandma's picture on our wall doesnt like being hung up. It always falls from wherever we hang it. She died of cancer 10yrs ago. We think she's trying to contact us somehow...
Nothing too scary, just unexplainable. I'll ask my mom for more experiences from her and share them with you all.

For years living in El Paso I always heard urban legends/ghost stories from people that sound an awful lot like this one I'll share & I don't know how true this one is but here you go! A former co-worker of mine (when I worked at a local university in EP) said that she & her mother were leaving one night from Western Playland where there had been some kind of festival & traffic was heavy in that area & I think she said it had begun to rain. Somehow she & her mother were driving home & happened upon an adolescent girl whom I think I she described as "mentally slow" or impaired. Between she & her mother they became concerned for her welfare & decided to offer her a ride. They asked her where she lived & apparently she gave them directions which was a house near Austin h.s. & let her off & that was the end of it. Well some weeks later my co-worker/acquaintance decided to go back to the girl's house & check on her. Evidently, she had been knocking on the door for some time & she said she noticed the house was vacant & was for sale. Some minutes later I guess the neighbor noticed her & came outside. She told her that no one lived in that house, that the family that had lived there moved a year ago! She then explained that there must have been some mistake & described the "young girl" that she had dropped off & the neighbor. This when she said the hairs on the back her neck stood up! The neighbor began to explain that it sounded like the family's daughter, but that she must have been mistaken that the girl had been hit by a car & was killed some years prior to the family moving! Anyone familiar with this story or one similar? Granted when I heard it, I certainly was suspect.

I got a story, relax because its a long one! I had a dream a few years back, probably like in 2000, but i still remember every bone chilling detail of it, because it scared the daylights out of me! Back in 2000, i had a dream, i was still with my ex wife at that point. Everything was good, we had a brand new house, good credit, nice cars, and 2 beautiful kids, my son was about a year old. Anyway, the dream, started out pretty nice & serene, i dreamt that we were riding, headed to Modesto Park, it was me, my ex, my mom, stepdad and my 2 kids, the day was beautiful. Their was no cloud in the sky, it was not too hot, it was just a perfect day. All of a sudden, you could see their was black clouds, coming in from the far east side, so i told the fam, we better hurry up, it looks like its goin to rain. So, we finally got to the park, the kids, my ex & my mom, went to play in the swings, while i proceeded to go shoot some hoops on the basketball courts. I headed to the basketball courts, and as i was lacing up my tennis shoes, it started getting uglier, the clouds rapidly started appraoching us and you could hear the rumble of lighting and thunder approaching. Suddenly bam!!! LIGHTINING, hit the Chevron Refinery, and a massive explosion, made the entire ground shake. After that, it was total chaos, the entire refinery was engulfed in flames, people were running around, panicking, screaming, it started to pour too, it was raining, crazy! All of a sudden, i could hear a maniacal laugh, coming out of nowhere, it seem like it was coming from the sky. Thats one of the worst evil laughs, i have ever heard, up to this day. Anyway, so i took off running, i was looking for my family, i was weeping, crying, desperate to find my family, i couldnt let anything happen to my kids! I ran all the way to Delta and Alameda, and nothing, i couldnt find them, at this point i was exhausted, crying, because i couldnt find my kids. Outside, it was total chaos, something like what we saw during the l.a. riots, but without anybody smiling, everybody was terrified and that maniacal laugh, kept getting louder and louder! As i sat there crying, i noticed a lil boy, he must have been like 6 or 7 yrs old, he was looking at me, but he had no fear, his eyes were peaceful and friendly. He was waving at me, then he told me, almost whispering, come here, come here...he started walking, and i went after him, i chased into these small apts, the apartments, were a nice soothing blue, we went into this small corridor, and out one of the windows, you could see the chaos occuring outside. Inside this small corridor, it was nice & peaceful. Suddenly the boy, ran down this maze like hall, and i started running after him, and then out of nowhere, just like that he dissapeared! At the end of the hall, to my suprise, their was this old lady, she seemed comforting, she had her head dwn, she had her arms out, like she wanted to give a hug, as i went to hug her, she pulled back her hood and bam@@@@ it was the devil!!!!! as he was about to hug me, i woke up, shaking, crying, scared to death!!!! When my ex came home from taking my daughter to school, she saw that i was sweating, and shaking, she asked what was wrong, and i couldnt even tell her, i was horrified, i couldnt tell anybody of the dream for like 3 months after that, and i couldnt sleep for well over a month! The devil in my dream looked alot like this
After a while i started telling some people about my dream, and 1 of the tech guys that works, with me, interpreted what it meant, and after all these years, his interpertation, was pretty accurate! Everything in the dream, meant something! He told me, that, not everything in my life was as perfect as it seemed. The black clouds represented, bad times [at that point in my life] were appraching. [Remember everything was going perfect at that point in my life, so i didnt believe him] The laugh, was the devil, bad spirits, bad omens, jealousy, people were trying to hurt me. Me, not being able to find my family, meant that i was going to lose my family, and it would take a while, before i was going to get them back [my kids in partucular] again...i laughed. The explosion, was simply that, that there was something terrible, about to happen in my life, something that would change my entire livelyhood. The lil boy represented, my family and loved ones, that were trying to help me, help me open my eyes to the lies and deception. The old lady/devil, represented, that someone who i loved and trusted, but that someone, was covering up a secret, and that someone was about to betray me, that why the old lady lured me in, and then the devil came out of her! Ofcourse, that wa my ex, she cheated and i lost my kids, due to divorce, so everything in that dream, eventually happened, funny thing, is he told me in july, and in jan of the next year, everyhting, started unraveling! My uncle who is very religeous told me, that it was a good thing, that the devil never got a hold of me and i woke up. I asked him why, and he didnt want to tell me, he just told me, that maybe it was a sign from god, that i needed to have him more in my life. After that, i did become more spiritual, started reading the bible, and since then, i havent had a dream like that again. Up to this day, i still get chills, talking and writing about it!

Anelizk:
I've heard that story before, but this the version I heard:
There was a businessman who had gone out of town to a meeting, and decided to drive back home that night, instead of sleeping overnight at a hotel and coming back the next day. Well, about an hour away from home, (around 1am) it starts raining hard on the highway he was traveling on. A little ways down the road he notices a white figure walking the streets and as he gets closer he sees it's a girl in her teens, soaking wet in what appers to be a wedding dress, and crying. He pulls over and asks if she's okay and needs help. She tells him that she was on her way back home from prom, when she got into an argument with her boyfriend and he left her stranded on the side of the road. The man asked her where she lived and she gave him an address near his own home. The man tells her to hop into the back seat, and lay down. He gives her his coat to use as a blanket and tells her he will wake her when he gets to her house. The man arrives at her house, wakes her up and drops her off. He lets her take the coat, figuring he will get it back from her later.
A few weeks pass by and he decides to go by her house for his coat. He knocks on her door and a woman that resembles the teen answers the door. He explained about the young girl that he picked up, and his coat that he needs returned. The woman replies, "That young girl you picked up was my daughter. She died on her prom night when the car she was riding in slammed into a telephone pole. The person that was driving was her boyfriend, and he was drunk. This happened over 2yrs ago, and she is still trying to come home."
The man did not know what to think, and apologized to the woman for bringing up the painful memories. He walked back to his car, to find his coat draped over the passenger side.

This is another spooky encounter that my aunt (a different one) experienced. This happened over 20yrs ago:
The holidays were nearing, so she told her oldest son, who was 6 at the time, to write a letter to Santa Claus to tell him what he wanted for Christmas and they would walk together to the post office to mail it off.
She strapped her 2yr old into his stroller and with her six year old in tow, lead the way to the post office. She had alot of things on her mind, including how was she going to buy her kids gifts for Christmas, but more important, how was she going to survive the next few days without any money to buy food. On the way to the post office, she encountered an old, shriveled lady who appeared to be 90+ years old and chit chatted with her for a few minutes. The old lady kept complimenting my cousins on how cute they were, and how well behaved they were, etc...She went to shake their hands goodbye and hobbled about her way. My aunt kept looking back to see where the old lady would go and finally, the old lady reached the steps of her house, stood straight up, winked at my aunt and went inside her house.
My aunt noticed that my cousin (the 2yr old) had his fist balled up and it appeared that he was holding on to something very tightly. She finally got him to let go, and what she found AMAZED her. Crumpled in his hand was a $100 bill! And, to make a long story short, for Christmas, my cousin the 6yr old got what he asked for: A VCR!
To this day, my aunt says that was her guardian angel because when she went to pay the woman back, a new family lived there who never heard of the woman, and the woman was never seen again.

AJsMOM83:
Your aunt's story wasn't as spooky as it was inspiring! Thanks for sharing it! Yes, your version of the story I shared, is one that I think everyone is familiar with including screenwriters, that's why I was very suspect of my coworker's story when she told it to me. Nevertheless, piqued my interest! I'll share a personal experience & what I think was my encounter w/a ghost. When I was about 3 or 4 we were living in a three bedroom typical late 50's/60's style ranch in Thunderbird Valley on Oak Cliff St. (w.EP). My parent's were out one night & I was in the spare back room which was a t.v. room w/our babysitter. My brother was a baby & asleep & I decided to go to my bedroom. I passed thru the kitchen & I decided to go thru the dining room instd. of the den to my bedrm. When I did so, the windws. of the dining room becme. illuminated by a light coming up from the bottom of the windw & the curtains separated & opened by themselves! After that I don't know what happened. I blocked it out. I never told anyone this story in my family. Then about 2 decades later when I was in college, we were having an X-mas family reunion dinner at Leo's & my aunt & mom brought up our 1st house on Oak Cliff (they had since mved) & my aunt was commenting on how she "thought there were some spooks at that house." Then my mom piped up & was like "oh yeah I think that place was haunted."
My said she would see stuff from the corner of her eye. Then I shared my story w/ her & my mom was like "why didn't you ever tell me?" I guess I thought no one would believe me. Since I've yet to see a ghost, but have had some strange experiences throughout my life.

Since the topic has somehow changed from haunted, ghosts, etc. I will share this experience that I had when I was about 11 or 12 years old. We, meaning my mother, 6 year old sister, and myself, were visiting my aunt who lived on Grama Street 1/2 block north of Alameda Street. To be somewhat more precise, for those that are curious, Grama St. is 1 block west of N. Copia St. and Alameda. Anyway at that time the apartments that my aunt lived in had a large dirt lot outside her door leading to the street. North of her apartments is an alley way. At the corner of the alley and Grama Street there used to be the apartment trash cans. My sister and I were playing outside on the dirt lot when suddenly my sister ran towards the apartment yelling for my mom. Well, as most of you know, since I was older and suppose to take care of the younger one, I thought something had happened to her and I was about to meet the "chancla" for that. When I caught up to my sister she was at my mom's feet and she started telling my mom about the man eating out of the trash cans. As we walked out of the apartment sure enough there was this homeless looking man about to eat a banana peel that he had taken from one of the trash cans. Well, my mom told him not to eat that and started to escort him into the apartment as I held the screen door opened for them. As the man passed me I was expecting to get the strong smell of "homeless" that people have that live in the streets, if you get my drift. Well, to my surprise he did not smell at all. Anyway, my mom made him a burrito with flour tortilla, eggs, rice, and beans. As he set there eating the burrito I noticed that his hair was very white and kept. After he finished his burrito, he stood up and said "Dios te lo pagara" (trans. God will repay you) and started to walk out the apartment. Well my mom was already fixing him another burrito so that he could take with him. The screen door had not closed when my mom told me to call him back for his other burrito. Well, I opened the screen door, looked at the open dirt lot towards the street and the towards the alley and he was no where to be found. My mom and siste walked around the corner onto Alameda Street and my aunt and me walked around the corner onto the alley and we never saw him again. After that I really didn't think about that at all until many years later. Then I started to piece everything together and it all made sense. At that time we were in the very low income families but I now remember that at times we might not have had meat, chicken, turkey, ham, etc. but we never, never ran out of flour tortillas, eggs, rice, and beans. That we always had to eat. Than I started thinking about the man himself, that even though his clothing looked dirty they nor him smelled, his white hair was clean and kept and I remember him being tall and did not looked like someone beat by life. Since then I know that we were visited by a good spirit.
