I am with you 6 FOOT...I have always been kind of a fan of the Wells Fargo building in El Paso...always neat lights and shapes from the lights on it.

I actually prefer the WF building with its night lights to the WF building in ABQ with its green night lights.

[quote=caiguar;3124160]ok here is a little photo trivia for you people from el paso. People that are not from here or maybe the people that are not or did not visit downtown at night won't know this one. Maybe very young people won't know it either, I don't even know if its still working or not. I saw it and had a flashback to when I was a little kid. I'm 30 now so maybe some people of my generation will know.

what is this.

This is the weather beacon atop the old El Paso Natural Gas building, it would forcast the weather by changing colors, red, gold, blue, and white if not mistaken, it was so long ago as kids we would call it the building with a (tronpo) top on it.

Ah, I wish Mr. Foster would relight the natural gas building.. I miss seeing the warm glow of the flame, that is so nostalgic.

Holmes, was it you who said was going to compile a list about rentals in downtown? I will be moving there next month, and I am having a hard time finding apartments located downtown. Do you know where I can find more info? Thanks, and if anybody else has information, I would appreciate it.

Sure, I was thinking about that earlier. I have a partial list, but there are a lot of places I just don't know the names of and know them by location only. I'll try and get a list compiled together soon..

Thats a good thought holmes, what would be nice but very unlikely would be if Southern Union Gas bought the Blue Flame building after Paul Foster remodels it and kept the flame icon lighted.

I see hundreds and hundreds of these Victorians everyday but this one in particular, really gets my attention because it's built out of brick and it's in El Paso's downtown, the ones over here are all made of wood. termite food.
