I agree with everything you say here 6 FOOT.

I am always very pleased with Oklahoma and other plains' states very pro-America, patriotic citizens.

And I also always find OK to be a pretty state, one that many don't think of immediately for pretty states, but one that has real beauty and varied landscaping throughout. (I am always struck when I drive through by the RED dirt and the blood-red hazy summertime sunsets! ). I am NOT a fan though of that huge toll expenses involved in the freeway between OKC and Tulsa!

Yeah i know this not the Oklahoma threads but Oklahoma blows away New Mexico, Albuquerque and El Paso as far as water recreation. I just cant believe all the Lakes, Rivers and Reserviors that are in Oklahoma. If i were to ever live there i'd have a Jet Ski and have a blast all the time.

I'm sure Silvestre Reyes has heard about this issue; I believe Fort Bliss National Cemetery is in his district. Thanks, 6/3. Yes we are very patriotic & pro America in OK. USA!

EnjoyEP, next time you drive down take the slow route along old Route 66. No tolls and you will see a lot of history.

Good tip, peggy, thanks! Being a former resident and lover of Albuquerque where one of the most functional strips of Route 66 still operates, it would be neat to catch up with it in OK.

But don't get me wrong, besides that pesky mega-toll (I am cheap), I have always found OK to be a great state to visit!

After researching Mr. Reyes, It does seem that he is interested in veterens rights which impressed me. Now he needs to tackle the fallen ones and their loved ones that sacrificed as well for us. I will e-mail him tonight and send him a letter on Monday. He seems to be a caring and honest man.

Default El Paso HELP!

El Pasoans, I just sent an e-mail to Congressman Reyes about the deplorable conditions at the Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. He seems like he would be concerned since he himself is a Vietnam veteran.I hope you and he will forgive me as I gave him my old childhood address and former zip code to allow entry to send him an e-mail.In conclusion, I explained to him where I lived and provided my Nebraska address and other information.

My 6 year old grandson Tito asked me a couple of weeks ago to take him on a "field trip" to see a cemetery where people are buried. I promised him and his big brother Alex that I would arrange that. In the mean time, last week or so, I researched Ft. Bliss National Cemetery where I found the You tube video and eventually this El Paso City forum.

Our family barber passed away a few months ago and I took them to see where he was laid to rest. The cemetery was somewhat snow and ice covered but it was clean, well kept and very peaceful looking. It was a touching trip, yet a nice one.I have not nor will I show my grandsons the pictures or video of the place my parents are at.
