I am an Earth Science teacher moving to El Paso next summer. Does anyone know what the job situation is for Earth Sci teachers there?

I'm afraid that you need to be more specific. Is is elementary, middle or high school that you are looking for. There are no Earth science teachers, only science teachers. Check the local school districts websites under certified for any openings. Check every 2 or 3 weeks as they come available quickly.

In general, employment opportunities for practically any secondary science certification are very good. Here in El Paso, earth science is generally taught as a middle school course, but in the next couple of years, I understand that a HS course entitled "earth and space science" will be offered as an elective. The state of Texas will soon be requiring a full four years of science for HS graduation, and this course will be one that's added to the catalog. And that should signifcantly expand the possibilities.

Good luck!
