Is El Paso pretty?
It's a matter of personal preference, but I think it has it's appeal.
The mountains, the river valley, the clear skies and starry nights all add up to an attractive setitng. It's true that the desert is not for everyone, but it grew on me.

I want to know what the scenery is like where you live. Is there a nice view? I'm mostly bedridden and housebound, so looking out the window is a big passtime for me. The satalite pictures and other pictures I've been able to find on the internet make El Paso look dry, kind of flat and smoggy. It looks like a big place that may be hard to get around in. I didn't notice any lawns or trees or parks. Can you grow a garden? I like that the weather is stable.
What is it like to live in El Paso? Thanks for the replies. (( ))

Go Florida.......I love El Paso becuase my family lives there. that's the only reason. people will hate me but there is no culture there. I mean you have mexican and ......wait that's it Mexican. It is dry, smoggy and rather dirty. there are some nice parts but that's just some......My mother always asked me why I never move there and I just get so homesick when i visit. I live in San Antonio and we have a variety of culture, mexican, german, filipino just to name a few. We are growing and we have grass!!!!! Entertainment here is endless with great live music venues, horse races and shopping galore......Im not sure what part of Florida you may be moving to but that would be a good choice. Now cheap housing, labor etc then choose El Paso. I know people of El Paso will be upset with me but most will agree. It's not their fault, the economy there cant support what some other cities of their size can.....Juarez doesnt help either

I'm one who can see the positives and negatives about El Paso, but I can't see Florida being better than here. Maybe the ocean and that's it. Well maybe some orange groves too but that's all.
There might be parts of Florida that could be okay but I think a lot of places in Florida would make El Paso seem quite nice in almost every way.

Is El Paso Pretty?
I would go to Florida! El Paso is not for everyone; some would say it's diverse but I don't know if they even know what that word means. El Paso is pretty in it's own terms, the mountains are nice, I liked it especially when it snowed ( for a few mins.) and the mountain top was covered. What a view! Weather's great as well, not humid e.g. Florida and San Antonio. Commute is not bad as well. People seems friendlier or maybe happier in SA and FL,,,in El Paso, most are just grouchy & cranky,,,seriously!

I think 6/3 could tell you a lot about Florida.. I can tell you a bit. If you live near Orlando, then you will see a very diverse population, do to Disney.
Don't under sell Florida MAL, there are many things that make it better than El Paso.. and a couple that don't.. Hurricanes and Humidity. Florida is more than Orange Groves and Water. Thats like saying El Paso is nothing but dirt and Mexican food, and that is not true at all.

I say go with your heart as to where to go whether EP or Florida etc...
There's good and bad in each as it's a prefernce thing per person as i'm not here to attack anyone on their preferences as i get that about Alamogordo all the time from family members. On paper Florida blows away El Paso.....it has the Ocean and Beaches (Ladies in Bikini's ) and pro sports in Miami, Tampa, Jax and Orlando and exciting college football in Florida State Seminoles, Florida Gators and Miami Hurricanes are national powers.. It has Busch Gardens Tampa which i like better than Six Flags and of course Disney World and Daytona 500 Race Track and the largest Wet N Wild Water Park in the USA.
Negative side side.....it has 30 million people and growing into the already over crowded peninsula and add the millions of tourists there on an daily bases the freeways were at a standstill alot. It's very flat as at times i missed the mountains and felt clausterphobic and swamp trees for 1,000's of miles in all directions when on the interstates there. As the drive from EP to San Amtonio is boring so is the drive from Jacksonville to Pensacola as it's nothing but swamp trees for the 400 mile trip on I-10. Some love the humidity and others like me didn't care for it as for 9 months out of the year i felt like i lived, worked and played in a Giant Sweat Sauna and it was always overcast and constant drizzle of rain. Lots of Mold issues there. Also there was lots of Black/White racial issues there and now i hear that the Cubans in South Florida and Venezuelans in Orlando all speaking spanish (Sound familiar EP) is causing issues with both Whites and Blacks there. (read their posts over there)
LOL.......Anyway talk about getting bashed from people and family members as they think i'm an idiot but for me my heart is just up the road in Alamogordo, Cloudcroft, Timberon, Capitan and Ruidoso and the Beautiful Sacramento Mts as that's where i'll be soon and when i die bury me at the ghost town cemetary of White Oaks.....lol.....I may yet start a web site for Southern New Mexico

El Paso v. "Florida"
It might be helpful on that decision to stipulate which PART of Florida specifically.
For example, Miami is unlike Jacksonville which is unlike the Everglades which is unlike Orlando which is unlike Tallahassee, etc. Just like Texas is huge and diverse and cities/towns in it are very different, Florida (or most states outside of the tiny East Coast ones) has very diverse and different areas.

I guess I'm more of a desert rat. If I left El Paso for some reason it would most likely be to another place with mountains and wide open desert skies. Most of the real desert places are too hot, El Paso isn't really in a desert, my next choice would probably be Albuquerque but parts of Colorado are very beautiful, awfully cold though. Missouri is a nice state, the Ozarks are also beautiful mountains.
