nice everywhere. Try the west side of the city, around Sundland Park area is very nice to live. I've lived in the past for couple of years over there, and it is incredible.

Very close to New Mexico, and just down the hill there is a Casino and race track, not the best, but your husband will enjoy it.

Great chance to visit Mexico quite often. Juarez is not as bad as you may heard on news.

Wather, dry all year long, but much easier that 6 months of snow.

Ejoy the quiet city!!!!

No its worse. Stay out of the Zoo, JAZOO ( Pronounced WAH-ZOO ) that is.. Also know as J Town.

It wont be quiet for long, not when 30 thousand screaming CAV soldiers get here. I still remember the days of 3rd CAV, and the hell the brought upon the city.

The West side is over rated.. Live in the North East, its quiet, and easy to get to any side of town you need to be in.. and less hassle too.

i disagree. have you ever been up in the deep part of the mountains on the west side? Theres little neihborhoods in the mountain crests with massive mansions that are georgous! The most beautifull houses and landscapes can be seen on the west side. Poeple out there actually care what the area looks like.

Although the northeast is starting to look like the west side these days. At least is was like that the last time i was in El Paso.... 4 years ago

My family and I did not stay a year. In short, for most, if you are not mexican or hispanic, you are not welcome. There is no such thing as illegal - just undocumented. High taxes, bad drivers.

If you have any choice, reconsider.

I am moving to EP in Nov thanks to the Army. What are some of the names of the towns in the Northeast that people say we should live?

Confused

Fort Bliss might be like a town but it's the military base in the NE. The only other town in the NE which is outside El Paso city limits is Chaparral. The towns to the East of El Paso would be Horizon and Clint but those are fairly long distances to drive. Other actual towns might be Socorro and San Elizario and Ysleta but they would be more far East or SE.

It's not like big cities out East because the city limits of El Paso go way way out and there aren't really many towns that butt up against El Paso like you see in other big cities. Here the suburbs are pretty much all inside city limits.

I wonder if it's names of High Schools they refer to -- such as Parkland or Chapin, Coronado, Franklin and so on.

El Paso = Westside/Upper Valley, Eastside, Northeast, & South/Lower Valley/Ysleta. These areas are considered El Paso proper.

"Towns" on the outskirts: Fabens/Clint/San Elizario/Socorro/ Horizon(TX state line the Eastside) , Sunland Park/Canutillo/Anthony/Santa Teresa/Chaparral(NM state line the Westside & Northeast),

Westside Neighborhood Names: (not towns) :
Upper Valley
Thunderbird Valley
Mission Hills
Kern Place (to name a few)

Eastside Neighborhoods:
Cielo Vista
Vista Hills
Eastridge

Northeast Neighborhoods:
Mountain Park
Logan Heights
North Hills
Ft. Bliss/Biggs Army A.F.

These are some examples of EP's major neighborhoods, but barely scratches the surface.
