well, I had an 03 honda accord and it gave me 35-38 mpg when the manufacturer said ~ 30 mpg. But agree that the bus is the best option now.

get rid of the taxes associated with gas and that is a starting point. as long is there is opec we are all screwed. technology is the only answer to solving the problem. as long is gas is the only fuel we have no chance of driving the price down. it is that simple. honda and toyota are the only companies with forward thinking. they don't care if the oil companies make more money. they want their companies to be alive 100 years from now, so that means new technology to keep their industry going. they don't care about haliburton, saudi, and oil profits.

It has already hit $4.01 where I am...and the gas stations are still full. As long as the demand is there, the price will go up. People need to start saying "enough" and start finding alternatives for outings and trips, to lessen demand. Once the demand is lessend, the price will go down...but as long as we continue to fill our tanks...well, you know.

To tell the truth, those 5,000 miles were spread over four different bikes.

What will we do when gas hits $4 a gallon.. Pay $4 bucks a gallon and moan and groan about it. I don't see anyone giving up their cars or driving less. We all should cut back our consumption by 10%.. hit these gas giants in the pocket book.. but we all have to do it, and that there is the problem.
