Oh thats great.. another privlage taken away.. Yes Solider you can die for your country.. Drink? Hell no your only 18. Go shine your boots and clean your weapon.

I know why this is being done.. because scrapping kids off the street is not a fun job.. and we have had way to many deaths recently due to drunk driving.

I disagree with this ruling as like Muhnay said if they are old enought to fight and die for America as they should be allowed to go to the Enlisted Mens club on base and have some cold ones. I was 17 when i joined and i remember my first year at Norfolk Naval Shipyards and we had a blast at the EM Club on base whether it was dancing with the ladies or eating pizza and having a beer and watching the Game on big screen tv or playing video games etc...as it should've been. We didn't have cars as we walked everywhere or took Taxi Cabs as we never could DWI.

I tend to think that the age should remain at 18 as well for military bases. 18 years old in the military is a big difference from an 18 year old at Party U.

That's a good point EnjoyEP about Military vs Party U as we knew being in the military if we got into trouble it wasn't just the civilian laws to worry about but also the military laws (UCMJ) would have punished us severely.
