El Paso Diablos Baseball is here - Go DIABLOS!
Does anybody love baseball in El Paso? You guys don't have any professional baseball team for 300 miles around you so go to-night at 7:05 PM to Cohen Stadium and cheer for Diablos taking on Shreveport Sports in home opener.

I am excited to go out to the ballpark and catch some games. Are these guys part of a farm system(AA?) or are they an independent league?

What a way to start the season with a 21-5 loss to Shreveport.

I'd love to get out there one day and see a game there. It's really a great setting for baseball at Cohen. You'd be amazed how fun minor league baseball is (there's a team [Frisco] not too far from where I live, so it's pretty popular) and how reasonable the prices really are.

Would just be nice if they were tied to a MLB team somehow. This independent league thing is hard to swallow.

I am sure they could find a slot. With a stadium like El Paso has, they could have a triple a team. I can't believe that UTEP has no baseball team. That is a perfect place to play college games at.

well i think UTEp doesnt have one because EPCC has one. I also cant believe that Cohen cant have an affiliated team. Cohen Stadium is one of the largest-if not the largest minor league park in the country.

Well EPCC has only had a team for 10 years or so if i remember correctly?? UTEP doesn't have one do to Finances. They've tried for years to start one up especially with the NMSU Alum but to no avail. The softball is 4 years old now at UTEP??
