Default El Paso Forum as compared to others on Citi Data.

I was doing some venturing out on some particular citi data forums, like Colorado Springs, Albuquerque, San Francisco, and I notice that just about every single El Paso post has that little warning sign (call the moderator) push botton to the upper right of the screen.

Actually heres what I found, the Colorado Springs forum is pretty boring, somebody better open up several Mexican Food restaurants there, no warning signs at upper part of right screen.

Albuquerque forum, their not going to go away till they get their new arena built in downtown and it better be a big one they also have a thread similar what one could expect from El Paso, Why do you hate Albuquerque or something like that, but it's mostly funny stuff, but they also have a sticky photo page, very well organized and very beautiful photos, no warning signs.

Then the San Francisco forum, it's pretty sophisticated stuff and the people there are hardly freindly, but there is also a sticky photo page with awesome pictures of the bay area and no warning signs.

And then there's the El Paso's forum, not to freindly, alot of those little warning icons {!} people seem more disgrunted and only about three maybe four actual native El Pasoan members posting.

Have a Nice day!

I just posted and theres already a warning sign up above, this is a hostile terrian der partners.... warning warning warning.

I actually like to read the El Paso Forum......No ties to El Paso whatsoever. But I see a lot of civic pride compared to other forums, alot more of a local flavor and several threads down memory lane which I find neat.

Negativity is in all these cities and states forums as i read my fair share of all different states and cities all the time since a member here since December 2006.

Some examples all the time are .....Like reading Miami and it's like ''Does anybody speak english'' (Sound Familiar) Or in Orlando people are mad at all the new Mexican Music radio stations on now . In Norfolk it's ''Why is it so expensive here?'' In Tucson it's ''Why i hate Tucson'' and in Phoenix it's ''Dont move here or it's too hot''. In Oklahoma it's ''are there Tornados where you live?'' In Charleston SC it's ''why is North Charleston so high in crime?''. In Austin it's about the humidity and in South Dakota it's that it's Boring there but my favorate one in most cities is ''The schools here are bad''.

Looks like EP not the only city with problems out there.

Funny thing is, in other forums, theirs more blatant racism, in the El Paso forum, its more "undercover", also no matter whre people live, in could be the most beautiful and entertaining city in the world, but people will find something wrong with it! Albuquerque seems like it has an inferiority complex, they dont know if their a big city or just pretending to be one, their like the mid majors in college football, somethimes theyll put up a fight, but for the most part, their not "ready to swing with the big dogs" San Antonios forum is funny, they got a nice beautiful city, but they lose sleep daily, because they cant compete, or dont get the respect that Houston & Dallas get. Funny thing is that, everybody complains that El Paso is behind the times, that we have a "smalltown mentality" BUT other citys that have grown, and revitilized etc etc, got citizens complaining, that the town "sold out" that it lost its soul etc etc, bottom line is people are never happy lol. El pasos forum, embodies in a way the attitude of the peeps in El Paso, for the most part, everybodys friendly, but the you got 1 or 2 knuckleheads that always ruin the vibe of the party!!!

I think if anything, the EP C-D forum has so few participants and is dominated by three or four regular posters who say pretty much the same thing. You can predict with high accuracy what certain posters are going to say about a particular topic. More diverse opinions from more people would be nice. Maybe EP suffers from a shortage of people with computers and Internet access (?), dunno.

I use to wonder about that if maybe not to many people in El Paso have their own pc's or pc access, but in regards to this thread what I notice on any given question from outsiders about El Paso, it's greeted by the same people with the same junkyard dog approach, beware of the dog,or Beware of El Paso, I mean some people literately try to scare people away but I always feels that just because it did'nt work out for one dont mean it cant work out for another person in El Paso, it usually does.

One would want to greet their guest with assurance and greet their company with open arms, in El Paso it's always been "bien benidos atodos" somewhere in the translations this gets twisted around to mean the opposit.

am I the only one who loves this forum? I come for comfort and to talk to people who aren't rude. I think this is one of the nicest forums on the board.

Thumbs up You Guys Are Alright!

I personally don't think there's that much of a difference in the state and city forums. We're all different, and you're always going to have people who opine on different things. Some discussions might be livelier than others. And other folks might conjure up thread ideas that you and I wouldn't even dream of. And then you have the trolls. I've also been on the general forums (sports, food, etc) and some are friendlier than others. I've posted on General US a few times, and I've seen that it can get nasty and ugly over there at times, but not always. I spend the majority of my time on the Texas state threads, but I come over here to the good ol' EP threads to see what my neighbors are up to. The same goes for Dallas, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio. And I like to give you guys as much insight as I can. But I like going all over the place on City-Data and you do see different kinds of people, and all writing about different things.

It's just the stuff of life!
